Juara Rompin Resort
I stayed at Juara Rompin Resort for a weekend earlier this year. We stayed as a couple and I think that Juara Rompin Resort is a great all-round resort that's set in one of the prettier parts of Tioman, Juara Bay.
Truth be told, as far as we're concerned, you can't really go wrong with Juara Rompin Resort, whether as a couple, a family, or even with a group of friends.
Whilst it's true that Juara Bay may not be the easiest place to get to for travelers going to Tioman, Juara's relative inaccessibility is actually a bit of a double-edged sword that works in favour of guests as well. After all, as a result of Juara Bay's remoteness, Juara has retained, for the most part anyway, its original Tioman atmosphere: blissful, tranquil and completely unassuming.
So placing Juara Rompin Resort in this neck of the woods was quite a stroke of genius.

But it's not just the location that blessed Juara Rompin Resort. The resort itself is known for its a lofty standard, attention to details and impeccable service. We found Juara Rompin Resort ideal for a weekend get-away and have, in fact, been talking about going back to Juara Rompin Resort for seconds :)
Let's first talk about the beach. Juara Beach is arguably without par in Tioman. I think Salang has a nice stretch of beach too, but seeing this awesome white sandy beach, curving lazily into the distance really gives you that ultimate tropical holiday feeling.
Of course the amazing clarity of the aquamarine sea water lapping up to the sand just completes the image of idyll. In a nutshell, it's hard to come across a beach as breathtaking as Juara's.
As a matter of fact, CNN has ranked Juara Beach as a World's Top 25 Most Beautiful Beach. I think that says something.
Meanwhile, the room we were is was just splendid. The bed was a king size and ever so fresh and comfortable too. Clearly, no expense was spared in the bedding department.
Now, the room itself was fairly mundane, but the amenities, the bathroom and the other room facilities were way above par, particularly given this price point.
The restaurant was a casual affair, but the food was good. We tried the full gamut, Western, Asian, as well as the BBQ and it was all enjoyable, not top of the bill, but certainly befitting an accommodation the stature of Juara Rompin Resort.
The only thing not covered yet was the available activities at Juara Rompin Resort. Obviously, most are geared around the sea, although there's the turtle sanctuary, jungle-trekking and motor-bike rental. We opted for a snorkeling session, which turned out better than expected. I wasn't aware that Juara has coral gardens on offer, but I do now. Nice ones too. Besides, you can't really spend a few days in Tioman and not go for a snorkel.
So, all in all, we both agreed that Juara Rompin Resort is a great hotel and very good value for money, at least for us for this weekend.
Tip: The main tip I'd give all those who are keen to stay at Juara Rompin Resort is that it makes sense to book in advance. Whilst Tioman used to be busy just around the summer holiday months, July and August, it now appears as if staying in Tioman is now feasible throughout the year. In other words, booking your hotel and ferry in advance is a prudent decision.
